About
Kia ora koutou,I am a third-year uni student who enjoys collecting cameras and shooting film. The first camera I ever bought was a Holga 120CFN from the Auckland Art Gallery about six years ago. I struggled to shoot film back then because of the costs, lack of film shops, and labs at the time. I stopped for a while and decided to pick up film again about a year or two ago. Since then, I have not looked back; film allowed me to take risks and explore my creativity.
During my journey, I realised that a lot of resellers would only mechanically test their cameras and sometimes not even test them at all. In the beginning, there have been a number of times where I ended up being disappointed. Some of the cameras were not film tested and it did not produce the best photos i.e. light leaks, broken shutter, camera did not accept film, etc. That's why I made it a goal to film test as many cameras as I can before handing them off to another photographer. My shop will showcase a mixture of film cameras that have been mechanically tested (and most of the time - film tested), film stock and some accessories or parts. Film cameras that have minor defects i.e flimsy battery cover or flash not working will be sold at a cheaper price and film cameras that have been film tested will be at a higher price.
This shop is currenlty ran by myself; I do it all - from cleaning to fixing to testing the cameras. Unfortunately, being a full time student can take a toll on me and so camera drops will most likely be inconsistent. If you happen to be looking at a film camera, don't hesitate to still get in contact. I'll let you know what I have in stock. Lastly, I am still learning how to fix cameras and if I tried to fix any cameras, I will make sure to mention that in the description.
